Classroom presentations for students in our region where our Health Career Coordinators present different health professions for students during their school's academic year. Professions presentations include respiratory therapist, nurse, surgeon, surgical tech, occupational therapist, and more.
Teachers can request presentations online using the .
Statewide online program where students learn about different health professions and careers through the Kentucky AHEC system. Monthly, students log on to Zoom to learn from the health professionals in various sectors and industries. Examples of previous presentations for Health Professions Investigators include a mock code with nurses, forensic pathology through dissection and pictures, etc.

Opportunities for students in our area to visit Â鶹´«Ã½ State's simulation lab at Â鶹´«Ã½-Calloway County Hospital, learn about what health professionals do in a hospital setting, and learn about what Â鶹´«Ã½ State University can provide for their education. Students participate in various activities like a mock code on a realistic mannequin. There are also anatomage tables housed at the School of Nursing and Health Professions at Â鶹´«Ã½ State University. These interactive tables allow students to look at the entire human body and dissect animals.

Purchase AHEC Health Career Academy involves students learning about different health professions including Speech Language Pathologist, Dental Assistant, and Surgeon to just to name a few. This weeklong summer camp is usually held in June. Past partners include West Kentucky Community & Technical College, Â鶹´«Ã½ School of Nursing & Health Professions, Lourdes Hospital, Baptist Health Paducah, and the Epilepsy Foundation of America.
