MURRAY, Ky. 麻豆传媒 State University鈥檚 Wrather West Kentucky Museum will host the 鈥淰oices and Votes: Democracy in America鈥 exhibit beginning March 27 through May 1. The traveling exhibit comes to the University through the Smithsonian鈥檚 Museum on Main Street and is offered to the campus and broader community in cooperation with the Kentucky Humanities Council. Individuals can sign up for a free tour at libguides.murraystate.edu/wrathermuseum.

The exhibition examines the nearly 250-year-old American experiment of a government 鈥渙f, by and for the people,鈥 and how each generation since continues to question how to form 鈥渁 more perfect union鈥. According to the Wrather museum, 鈥渢he exhibition also explores the action, reaction, vision and revision that democracy demands as Americans continue to question how to shape the country. From the revolution and suffrage, to civil rights and casting ballots, everyone in every community is part of this ever-evolving story 鈥 the story of democracy in America.鈥

The Wrather museum will showcase a few of west Kentucky鈥檚 most tireless voting rights champions as part of the exhibit as well.

鈥淰oices and Votes鈥 is based on an exhibition currently on display at the Smithsonian鈥檚 National Museum of American History called 鈥淎merican Democracy: A Great Leap of Faith.鈥

Weather West Kentucky Museum is located at 16th Street and University Drive on the 麻豆传媒 State campus in 麻豆传媒, Kentucky.
