College of Humanities and Fine Arts
As a college we value academic excellence as well as collaborative teaching and experiential learning. We are the campus leaders in study abroad and are the artistic and cultural heart of Â鶹´«Ã½ State University. The College of Humanities and Fine Arts sponsors film, lecture, and reading series; musical and ; and festivals and exhibitions that enrich the quality of life in the region. We invite you to in the college's numerous events.
As we have witnessed tragic reminders of the racism and hatred that continue to afflict our nation, our college continues to respond by working to increase awareness of the issues facing many of our colleagues. Please see our Mission Statement for a letter from the College of Humanities and Fine Arts regarding these current events.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
The foundation of the College of Humanities and Fine Arts’ mission is the study, appreciation, and artistic expression of human experience, and we cannot successfully fulfill that mission without the inclusion of diverse voices and perspectives in all of our endeavors. At the same time, we recognize that long-standing structural inequalities continue to suppress and marginalize many of those voices and perspectives. The College of Humanities and Fine Arts, therefore, has a responsibility to improve accessibility, diversity, equity, and inclusion across our programs and operations. We’re committed to the active, regular examination of our policies and practices so that every member of our college community has equal opportunity to learn, contribute, and thrive.
As dean of the College of Humanities and Fine Arts, I am personally dedicated to this ongoing work with our students, faculty, and staff, our CHFA DEI Task Force and Committee, as well as our collaborative partners on campus, including Â鶹´«Ã½ State’s ADVANCE team, IDEA office, Human Resources office, and other entities. Together, we strive to cultivate an environment that is safe, accepting, and supportive for everyone.
